The first thing you should do is define the scoring software you are generally using, as well as some other options. Go to the [Club F3] panel and choose the [4Options] panel.
Change 'User name' and 'User title' to suit. Select the preferred name format, which is used by the reporting when displaying the players' names. A capitalized name has the first letter in uppercase and the remainder in lowercase.
Select the player number checking option (say ABF) . Choose the scoring software you are using. Use 'Other' if your scorer is not in the list.
Once you have your masterfile loaded with your members (from your scorer players file) and the ratings bridge club name entered you are in a position to link all your players to the ratings system.
Go to the members list (F9 from main menu) and select [File] [Export players for ratings]. Save the text file (like cairns.txt) in a convenient place. Email that to the advised email address.
In return you will be emailed the first CARDS file, like cairns.cds. Using the [imports] [[player ratings] option in the members list screen, choose the [update] option with the update type set to 'start of month'. Select the cds file sent to you for this process.
Now you are ready to start using CARDS.
