Where you are using a supported scorer the session properties may be imported from the scorer's file. In this case click on the [Load scores] button after choosing the bullet representing the scorer you use. With the open dialogue choose the session of play you are wanting to score.

Where you are scoring manually, or wish to change the properties of the session, click on the session [properties] button.

Fill in the descriptive text as needed. Note the date of the session is important in CARDS as this defines which month the event is scored in.

Note the CARDS system attempts to place a session in the current month when it has not been scored in a previous month. Therefore events that cross over a month end, with some sessions in one month and others in a second month, will appear in the month that it was finalized in.

The number of winners is either 1 or 2 (1 winner is usually a Howell and 2 winner a Mitchell). Once the number of sections is set, the section number selected will reflect the number of tables in that section. Change this to suit each section.

Press [OK] when all the properties are correct.

Use the [View/edit scores] option to enter scores manually or to change the scores obtained from your scorer files. From the edit screen you can also use the [name wizard] to enter player's names. This is much easier than entering the player numbers on the final scores screen.

For the ratings to be calculated correctly all pairs/team must have scores. The easiest way to enter the scores manually is to de-select all items, then just select the scores column and enter those.

In addition to the scores, pairs results must include the % value. Use the [calculate %]
button after the scores are there so the percentage is present. If your scorer has provided this already do not use this option as the scorer value will be more reliable.
